Formation conditions of vortex-like intermixing interfaces in cold spray

چکیده

Experimental investigation was conducted to explore the formation conditions and provide new insights into mechanisms of unexplained intermixing phenomenon observed at substrate-coatings interface cold sprayed materials. The results indicate that significantly depends on extent plastic deformation coating-substrate interface, with severe creating favorable for interface. Two factors have been identified be critical inducing interfacial deformation: low deposition efficiency material properties. During spraying, most accelerated particles rebound after impact while accumulative thus Considering properties, coating materials must sufficiently high density attain enough kinetic energy substantial first layer substrate upon their impact. Also, cannot too hard so can induced. Based experimental analyses, hypothesis mechanism is proposed in this paper.
